This observational component found that lower taurine levels predicted worse metabolic health across 12,000 people. However, critical limitations exist. The mouse lifespan data, while impressive, has not been replicated independently. Correlation between taurine levels and human health does not establish causation—sicker or more sedentary people may simply deplete taurine faster.
